Media Bias Against

Bernie Sanders

There is an ongoing effort by the corporate main stream media to down play Bernie Sanders and the power of his movement. They do this because Bernie Sanders is a threat to their status quo corruption. Here are just some examples

WITH LINKS TO PROOF.

BREAKDOWN:

  • February 13, 2020: James Carville, the hack political commentator, likened supporting Bernie Sanders as being in a "cult" while on Morning Joe on MSNBC. He is quoted as saying  "There's a certain part of the Democratic party that wants us to be a cult. I'm not interested in being in a cult. Some people in this country want a revolution. They want disruption. They scream at people and bully people. And I don't know how you win an election: 78 years old, screaming in a microphone about the revolution but you gotta give people an alternative."

  • February 12, 2020: MSNBC's Chuck Todd gets paid MILLIONS to talk about politics, yet he can't seem to grasp the most simple and obvious facts. Chuck Todd said Bernie was not front runner and that he has less support than 2016. In 2016, there were 2 people in the race. In 2020, the are more than 10. Bernie Sanders is literally leading by every metric, yet main stream corporate owned media refuse to admit it.

  • February 12, 2020: The corporate owned media is desperately trying to downplay Bernie Sanders winning in both Iowa & New Hampshire. Jeremy Peters had the nerve to say that Buttigieg, despite losing in vote totals to Sanders in both contests, should be considered a front-runner. Reuters, in a Twitter headline, didn't even mention Sanders, instead highlighting Buttigieg and Klobuchar's stories and ignoring the winner of the vote. Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin said Bernie winning ism"not the big story coming out of New Hampshire." New York Times reporter Trip Gabriel didn't bother to include the Sanders victory in his big two stories of the night, saying "No. 1 story of the night: Amy Klobuchar. No. 2 story of the night (so far): Pete Buttigieg coming closer to Bernie Sanders than expected."

  • February 12, 2020: CNN and MSNBC tried to silence Bernie Sanders supporters by claiming they are toxic and “mean”. Both networks has dedicated segments to "exposing" it. They use EMOJIS as proof of their smear. They now consider snake & rat emojis online harassment. So, people are allowed to lie about Bernie Sanders consistently with no push back, but we aren't allowed to call them lies or WE will be the ones seen as "toxic"

  • February 11, 2020: A voter calls out MSNBC live on the air for the blatant smears and attacks against Bernie Sanders. The woman, who was undecided, said it was because of their ridiculous coverage that she ended up voting for Bernie. She says "I want to say, the reason I went for Bernie is MSNBC. The kind of 'Stop Bernie' cynicism that I heard from a number of people... It made me angry, so I said, Bernie's got my vote."

  • February 10, 2020: MSNBC's Chuck Todd quoted an article comparing Bernie Sanders' supporters to Nazis, calling them "a digital brownshirt brigade"...Let that sink in: the "news" media is comparing a Jewish candidates' supporters to Nazis. Todd chose that specific article to quote on air, and there was NO push back from anyone on the panel. He is quoted as saying "Here's what he says: 'No other candidate has anything like this sort of digital brownshirt brigade. I mean, except for Donald Trump. The question no one is asking is this: What if you can't win the presidency without an online mob? What if we now live in a world where having a bullying, agro social media army running around popping anyone who sticks their head up is either an important ingredient for, or a critical marker of, success?'"

  • February 10, 2020: MSNBC had Democratic strategist James Carville on Morning Joe, who goes on a rant about Bernie Sanders. Carville was telling lies about Bernie Sanders, especially that he cannot win and that he isn't proposing practical alternatives to Donald Trump.

  • February 7, 2020: MSNBC's Chris Matthews goes on an unhinged rant about Bernie Sanders live on air. He asserted that Bernie would be like Castro and start assassinating his rivals if elected. Castro was not a socialist, he was a communist. What kind of "news network: allows this kind of garbage on their programming without even so much as an apology or correction for the spread of obviously FALSE propaganda. Socialist economic policies have no relationship to how a ruler enforces their authority.

  • February 6, 2020: IOWA SCANDAL - The Iowa primary was a disaster by design. After several days with no results, the  supervisor of elections for Black Hawk County tweeted the results out on his own. He revealed that the IDP have had the results of their district for days, and the numbers they have now finally released are not correct. The first image you'll see are the results they had released to CNN for Black Hawk County. The Second is after the correction.
You can clearly see that the first version they tried to release was skewed heavily towards Pete compared to the second with Bernie winning heavily. We only know this because the  supervisor of elections for Black Hawk County tweeted the results out on his own because they were taking so long, and someone caught the discrepancy.

  • February 6, 2020: IOWA SCANDAL - The IDP misreported results from Des Moines' 55th precinct, which was held in the lobby of Capital Square. The party's Wednesday afternoon results, before the correction, showed Patrick earning the support of 191 people in the first alignment and 218 in the final alignment. Those numbers actually belonged to U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont. Isn't it convenient that these "errors" consistently hurt Bernie Sanders? When these "technical problems" only target one person, one has to wonder if they are unintentional.

  • February 5, 2020: The Iowa Democratic Party released partial results, leaving out the districts in which Bernie is winning in an effort to stop Bernie from getting the positive press coverage that should come from a win like this. They froze the results at 62% with Buttigeig leading on purpose for hours so that they can run a couple of media cycles pretending Pete is leading. They then updated the results to 74% for another several hours, again giving Pete a false push. This is to stop Bernie’s momentum going into NH. Isn't it interesting that the very last results released are the districts where Bernie leads by the largest margin?

  • February 3, 2020: Wall Street Journal published a smear piece against Bernie Sanders called "Stop Bernie Sanders Now" and the first sentence says "The socialist senator’s extreme positions will lead to Democratic disaster in November". There is a long list of smear articles just like this one.

  • February 3, 2020: MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson foolishly tried to assert that Sanders and billionaire Mike Bloomberg were both oligarchs trying to purchase political power, analogizing the small dollar fundraising of the Sanders run with Bloomberg's self-funded campaign. Bernie Sanders' reported roughly $2 million in wealth is about .03% of Bloomberg's $61.8 billion personal fortune. The idea that anyone would label Bernie Sanders as an "oligarch" is absurd. Nina later stated about Bloomberg "Anyone caping for a BILLIONAIRE (with a media company) able to buy endless ads & influence party rules halfway through is PRECISELY a perpetuator of the corrupt system--ie an Oligarch!"

  • January 27, 2020: Chris Matthews on MSNBC tried to smear Bernie by saying that Bernie wouldn't even stop and help someone on the side of the road. His exact quote was "Suppose you are lying on a road hurt...which of the candidates would stop their car and get out to help you? I don't think Bernie would." Not only is this a ridiculous thing to say on a NEWS NETWORK, it's also blatantly false.

  • January 24, 2020: The media once again attempted to smear Bernie Sanders by attacking Joe Rogan's public announcement that he will be voting for Bernie on his podcast. They want to make Bernie responsible for everything that any person that likes him has said or done. They ignore the fact that EVERY other candidate was begging to get on his podcast and were coveting his endorsement. It is only now that he has put his weight behind Bernie that they decide he is a "terrible" person. Remember when Republicans put out attack ads against Obama because Jay Z endorsed him? They kept putting out copies of his lyrics etc. to show who Obama "associates" with. It was a ridiculous attack back then, and it is equally ridiculous now. Joe Rogan has an audience that isn't normally tuned into the main stream media narrative and the establishment HATES that Bernie is connecting with real people.

  • January 23, 2020: A new CNN poll shows Bernie Sanders surging into first place as Biden continues to drop, yet the network emphasizes a statistical tie in their headline. If this were ANY other candidate, they would have no problem declaring them the leader...but they just can't bring themselves to admit that Bernie is leading the field in their own poll.

  • January 22, 2020: The panelists on ABC's "The View" decided to launch a full on smear attack against Bernie Sanders with absolutely no facts. McCain falsely claimed that Bernie "has a problem with women”. Briahna Gray had the best response to the show's segment, saying "More women have given to Bernie’s campaign than any other campaign. We have the most diverse, least white collation, But the millionaires on the View openly smear the teachers, Walmart workers, and post office employees who form our base. Shameful."

  • January 21, 2020: Hillary Clinton did an interview with Hollywood Reporter where she made multiple false claims about Bernie Sanders in a childish attempt to smear him, saying "Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done, he was a career politician. It's all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it," she adds, referring to Sanders' supporters. Literally every point she made is a blatant LIE. Bernie has a long list of accomplishments (Click Link), and he is the most popular of ANY politician (Click Link). He has been showered with praise from politicians on both sides for being an honest guy and very likable. She also refused to say whether she would support Bernie if he got the nomination. Hillary sited Bernie calling her "unqualified" in 2016 as proof that he "attacks" women. What she doesn't mention is that he clearly laid out valid points, such as her voting for the Iraq war, NAFTA, TPP, taking big donor money and other decisions that make her a bad choice for nominee. He was quoted as saying "through her super PAC, taking tens of millions of dollars in special interest funds. I don't think you are qualified if you get $15 million from Wall Street through your super PAC."... and he is RIGHT! This is a very clear case of pettiness, sour grapes and jealousy because Bernie is likely to win the presidency...something she has been unable to do.

  • January 20, 2020: ABC 7 News asked viewers to vote in a poll, which they had as a banner running across the bottom of the screen. They listed Biden, Buttigieg, Warren, Klobuchar, and even Trump.....but no Bernie Sanders. Sanders was grouped into the "others" category, though he is LEADING the poll with 33%. Sanders is a top-tier candidate, he should have been among those candidates listed on-screen in the viewer poll. Once people called them out on it, they gave an official apology for the "error", which is more than we usually get from media outlets.

  • January 18, 2020: MSNBC shamefully tries to smear Bernie Sanders by having a "body language expert" on named Janine Driver. Janine goes on a completely fact-free rant asserting that Bernie MUST be lying, while Joy agrees wholeheartedly. Using pseudoscience to push propaganda is what networks like Fox News did in 2015 for Trump. These sad and pathetic tactics have been called "fraudulent garbage" and a "disgrace." What kind of "news network" would allow this kind of trash? Apparently, MSNBC and other corporate media outlets.

  • January 16, 2020: CNN decides to smear Bernie Sanders once again by having a guest on named Hilary Rosen, who claims that Bernie was trying to get Elizabeth Warren "not to run". This is a complete lie and someone at CNN SHOULD have pushed back on her claim. Instead, they profusely agreed. There is overwhelming evidence that he actually encouraged Warren to run in 2015, and only ran himself once Warren decided not to run.

  • January 15, 2020: CNN has a panel on to discuss the previous nights debate. It was another complete smear campaign void of any facts. They spent the time virtue signalling and playing identity politics instead of any actual analysis. They are trying to push the idea that women should believe and vote for Warren because she is a woman. This statement was actually said with a straight face during that panel by Bill Clinton’s former press secretary, Joe Lockhart “And I can’t imagine any woman watching last night and saying, ‘I believe Bernie.’ I think people believe Elizabeth, and his explanation was not great.” In the days since this debate, Bernie has continued to rise in the polls, while Warren has been nose diving with her support. This is just another example of how tone deaf and out of touch these millionaire "panelists" are.

  • January 14, 2020: At the debate that CNN hosted, the moderators had a very clear objective: smear Bernie Sanders. There was not even a hint of neutrality coming from the network throughout the night. They asked loaded questions framed to invalidate Bernie's policy proposals, interrupted him when he tried to answer questions. At one point, the ignorant moderator cut Bernie off from answering a question about climate change because she couldn't fathom a situation where minorities would be most impacted by the climate crisis. The most outrageous incident occurred when Bernie & Warren were asked about the recent leak. Bernie outright denied saying it, and CNN continued with their questioning as though he hadn't answered at all. They literally turned to Warren and asked "how did you feel when Sanders told you a woman couldn't win". It was so disgraceful that Bernie Sanders and the audience in attendance visibly laughed and groaned in frustration.

  • January 14, 2020: Warren decided to smear Bernie Sanders with a ridiculous lie. She wanted to imply that he was sexist, but knew she couldn't just come out and say it. So she decided to insinuate that in a private conversation over a year ago, Bernie told her "a woman can't win". This is easily debunked with facts. Bernie urged Warren to run in 2016 and only entered the race when she decided not to run. He also endorsed and campaigned for Hillary Clinton when she won the nominee. Bernie has vehemently denied the disgusting accusation, saying this "

Bernie Sanders campaigned hard for Hillary Clinton, doing more than 39 rallies for her in the 3 month leading up to the general election. • August 30, 2019: Corporate owned media is constantly trying to excuse Joe Biden's endless gaffes....but not because he is their preferred candidate. They prop him up so that the other centrist candidates look appealing in comparison. He is being used as a punching bag for the others to dunk on and will be kept in the race as long as possible. Some of the most recent gaffes from Biden include forgetting Obama'a name multiple times, saying "poor kids are just as smart as white kids", wrongly claiming 40 students were shot at Kent State in 1970, thinking he was in Vermont when he was actually in New Hampshire, got both locations of recent mass shootings wrong, and completely lied about a recent story involving a soldier. The corporate media's current excuse for Biden is that he isn't lying intentionally like Trump, so don't worry about it.

I talk about it all the time, and then I wonder why the Washington Post doesn't write particularly good articles about me" This criticism is completely legitimate of ALL corporate owned media. Their motives are profit, not facts. They do the bidding of their rich owners and their own bank accounts. Let's all remember that every TV host you see on CNN, MSNBC, FOX etc have multi-million dollar per year contracts and are not "neutral" in their coverage. I think this list proves that to be true.

  • April 20, 2016: Washington Post's Glenn Kessler fact checked Bernie Sanders’ Claim That ‘36,000 People Will Die Yearly’ if Obamacare Is Repealed”, which he got from an Urban Institute poll on December 7, 2019. Kessler gave this statement three Pinocchios, saying Bernie didn't mention that the study was only Massachusetts, and that Sanders’ warning was based on the “pretty big assumption” that the ACA will not be replaced with a brand new GOP-designed program. What “tips this claim into four-Pinocchio territory,” though, was the fact that Sanders expressed a prediction in the future tense: He said that people “will die” rather than “could die.” The problem with this criticism isn't just that it is untrue, it was also reported on BY THE WASHINGTON POST on January 23, 2017 called “Repealing the Affordable Care Act Will Kill More Than 43,000 People Annually.” ...saying the same thing Bernie Sanders did.
