Joe Biden Lied About Marching In
The Civil Rights Movement
Joe Biden has claimed on multiple occasions that he marched in the civil rights movement. It has been proven that Joe Biden did NOT march in the civil rights movement.
-
August, 2019: Joe Biden once again made the same claim on the campaign trail in 2019.
-
February, 1987: Joe Biden claimed to have marched in the civil rights movement during his first campaign for president. This is his direct quote: "When I marched in the civil rights movement, I did not march with a 12-point program," he said. "I marched with tens of thousands of others to change attitudes. And we changed attitudes." More than once, advisers had gently reminded Mr. Biden of the problem with this formulation: He had not actually marched during the civil rights movement. And more than once, Mr. Biden assured them he understood — and kept telling the story anyway.
